UMC proudly supports and participates in various community engagement activities in Red Wing, MN and surrounding communities.
UMC curates community performance opportunities and explores those which offer students positive experience, recognition, and equality. We present such opportunities to our students for the purpose of enriching the lives of our students and their audiences. Examples include the Rolling River Music Festival, The Sheldon Theater Listening Room, local bookstores and coffee shops, the Hispanic Heritage Festival, libraries, Treasure Island Resort and Casino, and much more.
UMC’s founder, Mike Arturi, is an active member of the Artist Response Team in Red Wing, MN. This program was developed by Red Wing Arts and The Anderson Center to support and foster all forms of art and artistry in the continually changing economic environment. UMC proudly participates in various activities presented by the Artistic Response Team.
Our founder, instructor, and students have actively participated in performances and projects with various group homes and assisted living facilities.
The Historic Sheldon Theater in Red Wing, MN is a friend of UMC and has been an active and pivotal collaborator in various projects, performances, and special events. In addition to housing our school on its beautiful campus, The Anderson Center supports arts in various capacities, and offers performance opportunities for student and instructor participation. UMC’s founder is an active participant in programming through COMPASMN and Turnaround Arts.
UMC is grateful for the synergistic partnership that these organizations present, and the opportunities that are provided to the local, state, and national communities, and our school therein.
UMC has graduated several students who presently work in the professional music industry. We support our alumni by offering mentoring, referrals, references, marketing, and by offering opportunities to give back through teaching, coaching, and participating in UMC’s live performance opportunities. Our alumni are great inspirations to our student base, and we are proud to stand behind their work in the industry!
